FOUR FOR A SHOW is
a group exhibit featuring four women artists. Joyce Weil is a printmaker,
her etchings are full of whimsical imagery drawn for her life experiences
with young children, family and friends. The images are deliberately simplified,
using bright, flat colors to enhance the forms. Janet Davis works in both
oils and printmaking, also using whimsical imagery of landscapes and dreamscapes
filled with delightful childlike charm. Susan Reith's oil paintings on
canvas are filled with colorful flowers and still life objects. Many of
her works refer directly to Matisse. Peggy Jelmini's portion of the exhibit
focuses on her plein-air oil landscape paintings of the California Central
Valley.
